DRAWING TECHNIQUE

It’s really fun to sit in an official life drawing class. There will be a model who, if you are lucky, has some
experience in posing (it’s an art unto itself). An instructor will usually warm up the class with a series of
short exercises. Then there are longer poses — 5 to 20 minutes — which allow one to practice the skills
and techniques that go into drawing. As one works, the instructor passes by and will offer comments.
Sometimes he or she will actually offer a few “corrections’ — a line or two that repositions elements within
your work in progress.
